The Top 40 Watch List 2019
Last year Pearlfinders produced The Top 40 Watch List to coincide with Baselworld, the industry’s flagship event. Twelve months on and both marketing agencies and rights holders face a somewhat different horological landscape. 500 brands are still attending the 2019 event, but this is now down 60% since 2017. The big news is Swatch Group’s decision to withdraw its 18 brands and apparently hold its own event the same week – but it is one of many brands pivoting towards smaller, cheaper events and activity in emerging markets.
