Hot Sector: Consumer Audio

The global consumer audio category continues to be resilient to the ongoing crisis, with the sector on track to end the year up 27%.

Self-isolation and lockdown restrictions are driving consumers towards products that can improve their stay-at-home lifestyle - brands like Logitech, Razer, Bose and Beats are reaping the rewards.

The sector has been booming for some time now though, with Logitech posting its best-ever quarterly results before the pandemic hit. This has been fuelled by gaming predominantly, with challengers like Razer substantially increasing market share and more established names like Sennheiser building their own subbrands specifically for this nascent audience.

The question obviously remains of what the longer-term impact of COVID-19, and the impending recession, will be on consumer behaviour. However, with the consumer audio category thriving and new customers to target, agencies and potential partners should be thinking about how you can help these brands secure customer loyalty for the long-haul.
