Rainmaker Graduate Scheme – Business Development
Rainmaker is a business growth consultancy, specialising in helping marketing and advertising agencies start and build relationships with their dream clients – often blue chip and household brands/companies.
As an Account Executive on the Rainmaker Graduate Scheme, you’ll be the one actively starting these conversations on behalf of your client agencies – primarily through phone, e-mail, event and social channels – supported by your Client Partner, a senior business development consultant, who acts as the strategic lead on the account.

Who you are
We’re looking for people who are articulate (both verbally and in writing), highly motivated, ambitious, and hard working.
We’re not expecting you to be a marketing or sales professional (yet!) but you must be a quick learner and hyper curious, with a passion for understanding what marketing activity brands need to conduct to encourage consumers to purchase their products, and what external market forces impact how they do this.
Our clients are some of the best in the business, and it will be your job to communicate that effectively and creatively. To do this, we do require you to be educated to a degree standard but most of all, you have to be a positive and fun person to be around – people do business with people they like!

Working with a wide range of marketing agencies specialising in a variety of marketing disciplines – such as advertising, PR, social, design, experiential and digital agencies – we provide the strategic thinking required to create a compelling business proposition and sell it in to senior decision makers at some of the world’s biggest companies. What you’ll be doing
The primary tools of your trade are the phone and email as you will be using your intelligence and ability to execute a new business strategy to arrange meetings between your clients and major consumer and corporate brands.
You will research and identify business development opportunities and then match your clients’ capabilities to solve their business challenges. Your end goal is to help your clients to win new business in their markets.
As part of the business development team, you will:-
- Set up meetings between your clients and the buyers of their services
- Analyse business and brand insights for potential matches with your clients’ services
- Conduct email and phone conversations with marketing departments to introduce your clients, build relationships and identify well-matched opportunities
- Manage diaries and information flow between the parties concerned
- Manage your CRM, databases and associated administration
- Feedback on all areas to your line-manager and client

We offer a highly competitive starting salary of £21,000, supplemented by a highly-achievable and regular bonus scheme, with an OTE of £5,000 per annum, and a clear road-map for performance-related progression within the company. If you do well, you will progress.
